Events
I’m having a go at doing a two part endurance event to raise money for the NSPCC!
Pretty decent cause, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, for those not aux fait with this charity.
For starters, I’m going to do the London to Brighton bike ride on Sunday 16th September. That’s 54 miles, plus I need to cycle a further 25 miles, after I’ve got to Brighton, just so I can get to Eastbourne, where I can get a train back to smoky old London town. That’s almost 80 miles!!
Next up after that, I’m doing the Nike Run To The Beat Half Marathon, which is a pretty awesome music-driven road race through the centre of London on the 28th October. If you can spare any cash for my events, please help me out at justgiving.com/uberdavis. Many thanks!
Training
Well, I’ve been running a lot and cycling a lot (obviously). The running is getting there, although I’m struggling to get under two hours for the half marathon. Had a lovely two lap run of Richmond Park a couple weeks back, but my legs were completely dead at the end. I’ve got some endurance work to do there!
Then last Sunday, managed to chalk up 40 miles on my trusty old Dawes Galaxy bicycle. I intended to return to Richmond Park to do that, but unfortunately, it was closed for the Richmond Park duathlon (ironically!). Well, I’ve got 6 days left now, so see what happens on Sunday!
I’ve had one donation so far, and that was from my Mum (thanks Mum!), so please help me out!!
